Revelations a Study. Section 10.
Chapter 13:1 threw 13:18, The beast
The beast as described in scripture is the anti-Christ, or as God calls him the Assyrian. Many believe this is Satan but the Scriptures state otherwise. Lets take these next few verses and break them down. Rev 13:1 And “I”=John, stood upon the “sand”=the edge of humanity, of the sea=man, and saw a “beast”=anti-Christ, rise up out of the “sea”= man, having “seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns.”seven heads = 7 Mountains, ten horns = Ten kings, seven crowns =7 Kings., and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. Anamils attributes are always used in scripture to describe the attributes of God and a man. The key words that we are looking for in prophecy are, “was like”,“were as” & “as the”, these words should indicate to you automatically that an animal is only a medium to describe something else.
Rev 13:2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a “leopard”=who has great vision, and his feet were as the feet of a “bear”great power,, and his mouth as the mouth of a “lion”=power to devour: and the “dragon”=Satan, gave “him”= anti-Christ,
“his power, and his seat, and great authority”= Satan's powers are given to the anti-Christ.[Ref; Dan_7:6, Dan_7:7; Hos_13:7; Hab_1:8 Psa_22:21; Isa_5:29; Hos_11:10; Amo_3:12; 2Ti_4:17; 1Pe_5:8]
Rev 13:3 And I saw “one of his heads” = Mountain{Kingdom} Eze 30:24 And I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and put my sword in his hand: but I will break Pharaoh's arms, and he shall groan before him with the groanings of a deadly wounded man.
as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast., The beast will take by force 3 kingdoms and the other 4 will capitulate. [Ref; Rev_17:10, 2Th_2:9-12.]
Rev 13:4 threw Rev 13:7 are best described by Daniel, this is the time of great confusion and deception. Please read the description by Daniel. Rev 13:4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?
Rev 13:5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.
Rev 13:6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.
Rev 13:7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. [Ref; Dan_7:21, Dan_7:25, Dan_8:24, Dan_8:25, Dan_11:36-39, Dan_12:1]
We are going to get into the full meaning of Daniel concerning Revelations, in our next study.
This verse is one that is used by many to show that the Church will still be here during the 7 year Tribulation period. Rev 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
Rev 13:9 If any man have an ear, let him hear.
Rev 13:10 He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints. [Ref; Isa_33:1, Isa_26:21]
Rev 13:11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. [Dan_7:8, Dan_7:24, Dan_7:25; 2Th_2:4]
[Mat_7:15; Rom_16:18; 2Co_11:13-15 Rev 13:12] Rev 13:11continued; And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. The most exciting thing about the Bible is that every thing, ever verse, every chapter ties together. these next few verses help explain Rev. 13:11 threw 13:18. “2Th 2:3
Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
2Th 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. 2Th 2:9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
2Th 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
2Th 2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
2Th 2:12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” “The son of perdition”; is not saying that the anti-Christ is the son of Satan but that he has all the attributes of Satan. The largest part of Chapter 13 of Revelations is self explanatory.
Rev 13:13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,
Rev 13:14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. These next verses explain Rev 13:13 threw 17. Lets Read. Dan 11:31 And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate.
Dan 12:11 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days. Mat 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
Rev 13:15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
Rev 13:16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
Rev 13:17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
There are many different interpretations of Rev 13:18, Numerology doesn't work, nor is it a resurrected man, that is against scripture. Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six. The number 666 is a mans name in the pure Hebrew dialect which God said that He would restore to the people of Israel. To guess on the name would be non constructive. So I must leave it the way it is for now. end section 10.
Revelations A Study. Section 11.
Chapter 14:1 threw 14:20, The hundred forty and four thousand preach the Gospel to the Jews, Rapture of Saints and destruction of wicked. Rev.14: threw 14:7. Revelations is a book of absolutes. Many of the verses in chapter 14 are self explanatory. I have introduced explanation where needed. Rev 14:1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb{The Christ} stood on the mount Sion [A name of Mount Hermon. Most Holy Mountain of God.]{Heb 12:22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city[Jerusalem,City of David] of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,}, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand{The Sealed Jews of Israel}, having his Father's name{Jehovah} written in their foreheads. There are many that believe that Armageddon has nothing to do with Israel.
This is because they fail to research the prophecy of the old Testament. The Land of Israel is the land that Satan and the Anti-Christ must obtain to stop prophecy from being fulfilled. We will expand into that area later in our studies, countries, maps and areas.
Rev 14:2 threw 14:7 is self explanatory. Rev 14:2 And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps:
Rev 14:3 And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.
Rev 14:4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits{First congregation of believing Jews} unto God and to the Lamb.
Rev 14:5 And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.
Rev 14:6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,
Rev 14:7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
Babylon is two places in Revelations, The physical and the Spiritual. In Hebrew writings when a name or should I say subject is mentioned twice that indicates that it happens twice. The first was the fall of Physical Babylon in the Old Testament. Rev 14:8 And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. [Ref; Rev_16:19, Rev_17:5, Rev_17:18, Rev_18:2, Rev_18:3, Rev_18:10,Rev_18:11, Rev_18:18-21; Isa_21:9; Jer_51:7, Jer_51:8, Jer_51:64, Rev_11:8, Rev_17:2-5, Rev_18:3, Rev_18:10,Rev_18:18, Rev_18:21, Rev_19:2; Jer_51:7; Eze_16:15-22; Nah_3:19] The second is both spiritual and physical.
The spiritual side concerns, false, doctrine, teaching, preaching. The physical side is an actual city of earth that John explains later.
Rev 14:9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
These next two verses; 10 & 11, show the punishment of Hell. Rev 14:10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the
Lamb:
Rev 14:11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. [Ref; Isa_33:14, Isa_34:10; Joe_2:30; Luk_16:23, Deu_28:65; Isa_57:20]
Rev 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
Rev 14:13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth{These are the ones mentioned in {Rev 6:10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?}: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.
Rev 14:14 And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle {Ref;Joe_3:12, Joe_3:13; Mat_13:30; Mar_4:29}.
Rev 14:15 And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe.
Rev 14:16 And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth; and the earth was reaped.[ 14:15 & 14:16, Rapture of Saints from the Earth] Great violence and death takes place in this area of time upon the earth. Gods patience with man is over.
Rev. 14:17 threw 14:20, judgment and death come upon the inhabitents of the earth that followed the
Beast. [Ref; Isa_62:1, Isa_62:6, Isa_62:7, Jer_51:33; Joe_3:13; Zec_5:6-11;]
Rev 14:17 And another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle.
Rev 14:18 And another angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire; and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe.
Rev 14:19 And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God.
Rev 14:20 And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress = {Isa_34:5-7, Isa_66:24; Eze_39:17-21, Isa_63:1-3}, even unto the horse bridles ={5 to 6 ft.}, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs.=A unit for measuring distance, equal to 1/8 mile (201 meters). The spiritual meaning indicates great violence and death to all unbelievers. Isa 66:24 [ a window into hell is opened, those that are left alive will be able to see the consequences of rejecting Christ.]And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh. We will get deeper into Babylon the city in future sections. end section 11.
